Wigs arrived in a timely manner. I bought three in total, and they had a noxious smell to them. One of them looked used. Jackson was the least affected and in the best shape, so I aired it out with the intention of keeping it.
I am in total agreement with reviewers who warn the cap is small. My God, I'm on the larger size of average (but still average!), and it's like a yarmulke on me!
My second impression was that this wig is bloody gorgeous, even with the unsightly permateased "part".
I was nervous about Jackson's hair density and permatease, but you really can fluff it up or smooth it down... And although I figured I would have to thin it out, I'm not sure that's even necessary. Jackson just needs to be trained to sit how you like, and I plan on steaming mine because I've cut bangs into it and want it to flip outward instead of inward a la Rachel.
I knew this wig wouldn't be "straight out of the box and go" for me because I want to tame the permatease and create a fake skin-colored part. But I really didn't anticipate having to put a lot of work to make it fit my head! I've already inserted extra elastic on the sides but that hasn't entirely corrected the size issue. A wig grip helps but with the cap as tight as it is currently... It's going to get old, fast.
The hair is not terribly shiny, and it's on the coarse side like all Aderans wigs I own. I bought Chocolate Frost-R, hoping I wouldn't find the frosty blonde highlights to look dated. It's a lovely shade. The highlights aren't chunky (now THAT'S dated!), but thin, and they're well-placed. The blonde against the warm brown is really pretty.
Noriko, if only you offered Jackson is a larger cap size, I would happily ignore the lack of a mono top, and make this the only wig I ever wear.
I didn't take pictures with the intention of posting them online... I have NO pictures of myself online! But it's so helpful to see unaltered photos of real people wearing the wigs, so I'll try to upload some. Also I took a picture of the wig top looking down, so you can see the permatease (which to me always looks like they built a wig with a Brillo pad/steel wool as its base. Ugh.
